Workshop: Coptic bookbinding

Make a book using Coptic bookbinding with artist Rita Aase Austvoll.

24. Feb 2026 KL. 17:30 - 20:00

The name ‘Coptic’ comes from the Coptic Christians in Egypt around 300–700 AD and is among the earliest methods of gathering pages into book form. The binding features an open spine with a decorative chain stitch that attaches the pages directly to the cover without using glue. We’ll make a simple version of this book.
